  1. A. We will develop and implement an enhanced, focused curriculum that drives our students to the highest levels of achievement.

1. Define a district literacy philosophy and framework to include all content areas.
2. Students will apply literacy skills in order to become critical consumers of information from various resources.
3. We will formalize the use of differentiated instruction in grades K-12.
4. Implement a foreign language program beginning in second grade.
5. Implement computer based class for enrichment/intervention and credit recovery.

6. Establish more advanced classes in grades 5-8 and 9-12.
7. Offer courses for college credit within the high school building.
8. Identify and implement at least two additional fine arts class offerings in grades 6-8 and one in grades K-5.

  1. B. We will generate and implement comprehensive professional development programs.

1. Establish a district Professional Development Team.
2. Identify members of the district Professional Development Team.
3. Develop pathways on district website to support professional development.
4. Provide a minimum of 6 hours annually of professional development to all staff in the area of technology to enhance learning.
5. All buildings will allow for a minimum of 10 hours of vertical and/or horizontal alignment for all staff annually to achieve district professional development goals.
6. Provide release time to carry out district designated professional development time.
7. Springboro community in conjunction with local businesses and community members will establish a non-profit educational foundation for supplemental funding of professional development and district objectives.

  1. D. We will address our facilities needs.

1. Develop an ongoing, comprehensive set of standards to determine facility enhancements and expansions.
2. Establish facility partnerships between businesses, community groups and the school district to collaborate effectively for mutual benefit of the community.

  1. E. We will establish and execute a progressive technology plan.

1. Procure laptops for staff/teachers (who want them) to increase productivity. These would be replacement for their desktops.
2. Enhance teacher productivity and student education by providing an available multimedia workstation for teachers to create multimedia rich resources to use for instruction (1 per building grades K-6, 2 for grades 7-8, 3 for grades 7-12).
3. Enhance student education by providing an available computer lab for classroom teachers to bring their students to use.
4. Procure video/data projectors, smartboards, document cameras and student response systems in sufficient quantities to enhance the educational environment for students and productivity for the teachers.
5. All staff will be able to use the technology tools they need for teaching with minimal delay for repairs.
6. The district will streamline the process for software approval and installation in order to supply teachers with the software they need for the classroom in a timely manner.
7. The district will pilot a bookless curriculum in select subject areas.

8. Drive continued growth in the integration of technology into instruction and learning.
9. Provide for controlled wireless connectivity in public areas within the district.

11. Obtain fiber run from Five Points Elementary to Central Office to provide equivalent bandwidth as all other buildings in the district.
12. Provide for a portable video conferencing system to support curriculum.

  1. F. We will develop and implement an exemplary early learning program.

1. Provide better test result communication with parents so that test results will be better understood and utilized.
2. Establish biannual preschool/kindergarten meetings with local preschools to provide data regarding local trends from kindergarten screening and to share ideas to better prepare preschoolers for transition to kindergarten.
3. Create a trained team to administer Kindergarten Diagnostic Inventory (KDI) each spring and late summer in order to provide uniformly administered screening with minimal disruption to the classroom.
4. Establish half day Kindergarten sessions each consisting of 2 hours and 45 minutes in order to achieve current curriculum expectations.

5. Incorporate gym, art, music into Kindergarten program.
6. Integrate alternative language expressive and receptive vocabulary into classroom routines (greeting, calendar, and themes) to expose students to other ways of looking at the world and foster positive attitudes towards diversity.
7. Create opportunities for K-2 teachers to be exposed to other teaching methods and techniques.
8. Provide curriculum support in Language Arts and Math for kindergarten through 2nd grade teachers.
9. Create kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade classrooms in which differentiated instructional strategies will be implemented and supported on an ongoing basis to meet the needs of diverse learners.
10. Create and implement a consistent character education program for grades K-2, where students and staff model fairness, equity, caring, and respect.
11. Create a community within the classroom with successful, caring students who feel they are significant citizens by training all teachers in the creation of a positive learning environment.
